Started in 2002, the Rock River Canoe Company has evolved from a few rental boats and a strongback, to a mostly open, Main Street business in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. We now concentrate on our lines of paddling and outdoor gear, and boat-building operations and materials. Still a small shop, our focus is on sharing the experience of building a wooden boat, and using it. Since we are an active boat-building shop you’ll have to pardon the dust, a by-product of our craft. At any given time there might be 6 to 8 boats in various stages of construction. Our builders will be more than happy however, to offer you a cup of tea or coffee and spend some time explaining the process.
We’re typically open most afternoons during the week, also Monday and Thursday evenings until about 9:00 PM, and all day Friday and Saturday. Give us a call (920-563-1075) if you need to make other arrangements or send us an e-mail at info@rockrivercanoe.com.
